Cecil Shipman is a petroleum engineer and currently serves as the Vice President of Engineering at Reservoir Data Systems where he oversees engineering, research and development, and operations. Cecil graduated with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University where he served as SPE President.  He has held production, operations, and reservoir positions with Apache, Total, and Devon and has received certifications in Well Test Analysis, Rate Transient Analysis, and Minifrac (DFIT) Analysis. Cecil Shipman has developed an expertise in reservoir analysis, data acquisition, fracture stimulation monitoring, acoustic analysis, and well testing with a special emphasis in Pressure Transient Analysis and DFIT Analysis.  He has analyzed over 7,000 wells in fields all over the domestic U.S and offshore GOM.  In addition, Cecil co-developed mathematical interpretation models for scale detection utilizing non-invasive methods. Cecil has been pivotal in Reservoir Data System’s growth with his contributions in the development of real-time communications and its applications. Cecil is a Vistage Key Group Advisory Board member, an active SPE member, and currently resides in Cypress, TX with his wife and daughter.
